Roberto Tapia told Telemundo how he drove 24 hours to take his compadre, Rafael Amaya, to Julio César Chávez's rehabilitation clinic.

Roberto Tapia

, a great friend of

Rafael Amaya

, gave him an interview to the program 'En Casa con Telemundo', to talk about his participation in the rehabilitation of the actor from 'El Señor de los Cielos'.

Via Skype, and from Tijuana, Mexico, the singer linked up with

Ana Jurka

to tell her all the details of how she drove her car, for 24 hours, to take Rafael to a rehabilitation clinic.

"It was a difficult situation that my compadre lived through for more than a year, for more than a year he was in that abyss, drugs and alcohol, away from his work, his family and friends, and well, I was fortunate to be the person he called to ask for help ", confessed the singer at the beginning of the talk.

Just last week, Tapia had published on his Instagram account a photo of his daughter's birthday celebration, where Amaya appears, very smiling.

On December 1, it emerged that Rafael Amaya had been admitted to the rehabilitation clinic that Julio César Chávez has in Culiacán, after the former Mexican boxer published a photo on his Instagram account where they posed together.

"Get ready, he's coming back stronger than ever. I'll have him train at

@chavezboxingstudio,

" the 58-year-old Mexican champion wrote next to the image.

In the interview that Tapia gave Jurka, the artist recounted why he felt that supporting his compadre was vital.

"In fact, I had been thinking for months that I had to do something now, because the times my compadre spoke to me, I already heard him badly. He was no longer the person I had known. My compadre was already bad," he confessed .

Despite his work commitments, Roberto took the time to provide the help that was needed.

"I had a lot of work, but what my compadre always did was call me at different numbers, as he was hiding from the same family, I suppose, because I know that his family tried to help him at first and my compadre rejected the help, saying that he was not bad, that he controlled it, "he said.

"But unfortunately, well, no, he did not control any of that and he asked me for help in August, at the beginning of August. I was recording my new album, there in Culiacán, so I told him, 'yes, compadre, with all pleasure I I help him, "added Roberto, and mentioned that Amaya's words were" I need help, I can't anymore. "

After that call for help, it took a few days before Tapia was able to locate his friend again.
