Will Ichilov Hospital start vaccinating against Corona, with state support, even before FDA approval, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration?

The Ichilov spokeswoman said that the hospital's director general, Prof. Roni Gamzo, until recently the corona projector, applied to the special vaccination committee in the Ministry of Health for permission to immediately start administering Pfizer vaccines. The vaccines are expected to arrive next Thursday or next Sunday.

"It depends on the Ministry of Health, but the British document came to us and we get it. Now it depends on the country. If the state approves, we can start vaccinating immediately and be the first hospital to do so in the country," the hospital confirmed.

At the same time, Prof. Gamzo contacted the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, and asked to be the first Israeli to be vaccinated.

"The vaccine is safe for every person on an individual level and for us as a company at the national level," said Prof. Gamzo.

"I am proud to receive this treatment first as part of the global technological advancement. I am convinced that this personal example will lead to the trust of the public and all citizens to receive the vaccine for their health."

Vaccination is possible under section 29 of the Pharmacists Ordinance, which authorizes giving treatment in a country registered with another recognized authority - in this case the United Kingdom - so there is no need to wait for FDA approval.
