Legionella deaths: three managers of Policlinico Bari banned

The investigating judge of the Bari Court Giuseppe De Benedictis ordered the ban for three months of the general director of the Bari Polyclinic Giovanni Migliore, the medical director Matilde Carlucci and the technical area director Claudio Forte. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - BARI, 09 DEC - The investigating judge of the Bari Court Giuseppe De Benedictis ordered the ban for three months of the general director of the Bari General Hospital Giovanni Migliore, the medical director Matilde Carlucci and the Areatecnica director Claudio Forte.

He decided this, accepting the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigation into four perlegionella deaths that occurred from 2018 to 2020. The charges are for omission of official acts and death as a consequence of another crime.


   In recent weeks the preventive sequestering had been ordered with the right to use two pavilions of the Policlinico, Chini and Asclepios, because they were infected with Legionella. The investigating judge of the Bari Tribunal Giuseppe De Benedictis ordered the interdiction for three months of the general director of the Bari Clinic Giovanni Migliore, the medical director Matilde Carlucci and the technical area director Claudio Forte. He decided this, accepting the request of the Prosecutor's Office in the context of the investigation into four deaths from legionella which occurred from 2018 to 2020. The accusations are of omission of official acts and deaths as a consequence of another crime.
