VOLTERRA - Christmas of lights and shades of alabaster in Volterra (Pisa), entered in the short list of the finalist cities for the title of Italian Capital of Culture 2022. Today, in the central Piazza dei Priori, the design installation 'Arnioni will be on. in piazza ', curated by the international designer Luisa Bocchietto.
The initiative, explains a note, is part of the 22 designers project for 22 artisans, created in collaboration with the alabaster masters of Volterra, with the patronage and contribution of the Tuscany Region, and will kick off 'Volterra / Lumina', the first Christmas alabaster, with a series of urban regeneration and creativity initiatives.
The urban work will be inaugurated at 6 pm, on the notes of the famous Imagine by John Lennon, to pay homage to the artist on the 40th anniversary of his death.
In the next few days, moreover, it will be possible to buy the alabaster candle holders made by the Volterra artisans, as a concrete sign of participation in the Volterra candidacy.
