Companies have not skimped on the means to protect their employees and their customers from Covid-19 during, and also at the exit, of the first confinement last spring.
According to a survey unveiled this Thursday by INSEE, the appropriation of sanitary instructions was particularly followed in the agrifood (69%), pharmaceutical (53%), wholesale (58%) and retail ( 54%).

Companies with 250 or more employees have been rather cautious (for 50% of them, against 42% in companies with less than 50 employees).
But if health was not a price for employers during the first phase of the health crisis, it had a significant cost, evaluated in purchases of masks, hydroalcoholic gel and other protections at… 3% on average of the figure business 2019 of companies.
In accommodation, catering and the health sector, the most impacted by the first wave, it even reached 5%.
As for the indirect costs, linked to physical distancing (limited reception of customers, spacing of appointments, reorganization of employees in the production chain, etc.) and suffered by 70% of companies, they are even higher and estimated at nearly 6% of 2019 turnover.
