At least five cyclists were killed in a serious accident near Las Vegas on Thursday.
Numerous other people from the group were injured, some seriously, according to media reports when a delivery truck drove into the about 20 athletes on the highway.
After initial investigations, the truck had caught some cyclists who were driving in the slipstream of the security vehicle and pressed them against the vehicle.
Then the truck drove into the support vehicle and pushed it into other cyclists.
The cause of the tragic incident is still unclear, the authorities are currently examining the accident vehicle for a defect.
