The "pesticides" we eat.

This is the deduction that can be made bearing in mind what emerges from the 'Stop Pesticides' report, developed by Legambiente and created in collaboration with Alce Nero, presented online today, according to which "almost half of the samples" of the products "analyzed contains residues of pesticides", and "in fruit" it reaches "over 70%".

According to the 2020 Legambiente report, in fact, "only 52% of the samples analyzed are regular and free of pesticide residues; a non-positive result that leaves room for many fears about the presence of plant protection products in food and in the environment".

From the analysis of the negative data, it emerges that "the outlawed samples do not exceed 1.2% of the total but that 46.8% of regular samples have one or more pesticide residues".

The peak in fruit is reached by 89.2% for "table grapes";

followed by "85.9% for pears and 83.5% for peaches";

while "among the foreign samples, a goji berry" contains "as many as 10 residues and green tea 7 residues from China".

The document highlights that "the most common pesticides in food in Italy are Boscalid, Dimethomorph, Fludioxonil, Acetamiprid, Pyraclostrobin, Tebuconazole, Azoxystrobin, Metalaxyl, Methoxyfenozide, Chlorpyrifos, Imidacloprenone, Piraclostrobin, Tebuconazole, Azoxystrobin, Metalaxyl, Methoxyfenozide, Chlorpyrifos, Imidacloprenone, Piraclostrobin, Pyrimiprefos-methyliprenone".

It is - it is explained - "for the most part" of "fungicides and insecticides used in agriculture that arrive on our tables and which, day after day, endanger our health".
