(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 07 - Facebook blocks DonaldTrump's profile for 24 hours.
The American media reported it.
Mark Zuckerberg's social block follows a similar 12-hour block by Twitter.
Zuckerberg, according to Axios reconstructions, would have called the situation in Washington an "emergency" and, in an email to employees, assured that other measures were being considered to keep people safe.
Facebook and YouTube itself have previously removed the video in which DonaldTrump invites protesters to go home at the same time denouncing stolen elections.
"We removed it because we believe it contributes to the risk of violence," explains Facebook.
YouTube announcing the removal highlights that the video was removed because it "violates the policies on the dissemination of electoral fraud".
"Today is a sad and shameful chapter in the history of our country. We must complete the transition to the administration of president-elect JoeBiden."
Tim Cook, Apple's chief executive, tweets it, referring to the violence in Congress.
