It started as a dispute among brothers - and ended with three criminal charges.
On Saturday night, a police operation in Dortmund escalated, three officers were injured.
According to the police, several officers arrived shortly after 1 a.m. in front of an apartment building in the Hörde district, where a 32-year-old man with injuries to his face was standing on the street.
He was drunk and started screaming when the police came up to him.
Previously, he is said to have quarreled with his 29 and 39 year old brothers.
The police sent the man off, which he refused to do, and the officers said they wanted to take him into custody.
According to the police, however, the 32-year-old offered strong resistance.
In addition, his brothers came out of the house to help him: They beat the police officers and pulled their brother out of the patrol car.
Only after the arrival of other emergency services did the police manage to take the men into custody.
They are now being investigated for attempted release from prisoners, resistance to law enforcement officers and bodily harm.
