(ANSA) - MILAN, 16 JAN - About a hundred workers from the world of entertainment and culture gathered in front of the Milan Triennale to give life to the first Cultural Mass, a bicycle protest touching the main places of Milanese culture where they symbolically left a banner , from the Triennale to the Strehler Theater to the Scala and the Arcimboldi Theater.
"We want to bring citizens together - said Francesca Biffi of the Lombardy Entertainment Coordination, who dealt with the organization of the event -, because culture is necessary for the people and the city, not just for the workers".
"Physical distancing does not mean repression of sociality and this is the proof: we are many and on bicycles, we are aggregation but not gathering" says a protester.
"There is a serious social immobility - continued Francesca Biffi -. We ask for attention. The places of culture cannot continue to remain closed, we have to talk about departure".
Understanding when and how it will reopen: this is what the workers in the world of culture are asking.
Between live music, dancing and applause, a member of the Coordination recalled that there is no adequate aid for this sector.
"Lombardy has given income and support only to VAT numbers, not to employees, while in other regions it has been done" said a demonstrator.
A protest that also virtually embraces the world of schools: "We are close to the students who are demonstrating for their right to study. We always talk about culture and we feel united in a common cause" said one of the present.
Outside the Triennale, a sign summarizes the ideological points of the event: direct employment, continuity income and safety at work, for a real "radical reform of the entire sector" - (ANSA).
