Tensions and clashes between groups of young people and law enforcement agencies are taking place in Cité Etthadamen, a popular suburb of the capital, but also in Monastir, Sousse (where a fire was set in a police station), Biserta and other locations in the Country.

Local media say so.

To disperse the young people, who defied the curfew in force by taking to the streets, setting fire to tires, and attempting to loot businesses, the police had to use tear gas.

Last night similar scenes were seen in le Kram, where there were several arrests.

While in Cité Etthadamen, a popular suburb of the capital, relative calm returned in the evening and the damage caused by looting and devastation of shops and a post office is counted, news of vandalism and assaults arrived from Sousse, Siliana, Kasserine , le Kef, Kairouan, Hammam Lif, Menzel Bourguiba, Hammamet, Tebourba, Sidi Hassine, Biserta, Cité Al Intilaka, Cité Ezzouhour, Sfax and Monastir. According to security sources cited by the media, the police seized in Sousse, where a police station was set on fire, a number of ready-to-use Molotov cocktails, a petrol can and a sword. The officers also arrested about fifteen boys intent on setting fire to plastic waste containers.
