A turning maneuver in a cemetery in Deißlingen ended with a total of around 13,000 euros in property damage: A 94-year-old lost control of his car and sped into a building.

A 94-year-old driver drove full throttle into the funeral hall of a cemetery in Deißlingen in Baden-Württemberg.

The senior suffered minor injuries, the police said.

The man had wanted to turn around on Saturday afternoon in the forecourt of the hall near Villingen-Schwenningen.

The rear of the car got stuck in a pile of snow.

When he tried to free his car at full throttle, the information said the tires spun and began to smoke.

When they found a stop again, the car shot across the icy square, broke through the glass front of the funeral hall, crossed the interior and only came to a stop at a lectern.

The police estimate the damage to the building at around 10,000 euros and at 3000 euros to the driver's car.
