British police break wedding reception with 400 guests

2021-01-22T11:46:28.353Z

Six would have been allowed, there were 400: While the pandemic is raging in Great Britain, a couple in London invited to a big party. That now has an aftermath - for all guests.

The British police said they had ended an illegal wedding in north London.

Although celebrations with up to six guests are currently only allowed, about 400 people came to the party in a school building in the Stamford Hill district, the investigators said.

In view of the dramatic Corona situation in Great Britain, it is a "completely unacceptable disregard of the law," as a police spokesman said.

The organizer of the festival should now expect a fine of 10,000 pounds.

Almost 100,000 corona deaths

According to the information, the celebrants had tried to cover up their gathering professionally: All windows were covered so that no one from the outside could have observed the celebration inside the building.

Not only the organizer of the festival has to expect fines: According to the police, all participants should each pay 200 euros.

The police spokesman was outraged by the incident.

While almost 100,000 people in the country died of Covid-19, hundreds of people put themselves and others in danger with a wedding celebration.

This is unacceptable - especially in view of the overloading of the health system and the personal sacrifices that many people make.

In Great Britain, the apparently much more contagious virus variant B.1.1.7 is currently spreading rapidly, the health system is on the verge of collapse - despite mass vaccinations and lockdown.

According to the authorities, around 40,000 people are currently infected with the pathogen every day.
