The President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Yasar Abdin, discussed with the Director of the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands, the oxidation of Dr. Nasreddin Al-Obaid, ways to enhance and develop cooperation between the two sides in the scientific and technical fields.
The aspects of cooperation between ACSAD and Damascus University focus on joint supervision of master's and doctoral theses, and visits by students of the Faculty of Agriculture to ACSAD research stations to view the latest experiences, research, seminars and joint workshops, and to benefit from the experiences of Damascus University to implement development projects in Arab countries and to pave the way for the publication of scientific research in the journal Dry environments issued by ACSAD.
Dr. Abdin noted during the meeting that took place today at the headquarters of the University of Damascus with the existing cooperation between the two sides and the projects and applied scientific research that ACSAD implements in Syria, while Dr. Al-Obaid expressed the organization's readiness to cooperate with researchers and experts at Damascus University to complete research and applied scientific projects in various fields of ACSAD's work.
It is noteworthy that the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands ACSAD signed with the University of the Euphrates last September an agreement that includes cooperation in the fields of multi-source water use, development of date palm cultivation, conservation agriculture, combating desertification, joint utilization of their laboratories and field experiments stations, and enhancement of technical and technical capabilities that contribute to the development of Agriculture in the areas of mutual interest.
