Because a 39-year-old was "apparently under the influence of intoxicating drugs" while trying to steal a car in Bavaria, he was caught by the owner.
The plan should actually have been: set off, short-circuit, drive away.
But apparently because of exhaustion, the man couldn't get past step one.
As the police announced on Sunday, the owner returned to his car in Weiden at around 0.45 a.m. and found the 39-year-old behind the wheel, asleep in the driver's seat.
The alerted police took the man to the station.
Before he was released, prosecutors requested a blood sample.
The attempted theft resulted in property damage of around 1000 euros.
The man is being investigated.
