(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 25 - Damien Hirst and Guido Reni, in an ongoing dialogue between the anxieties of the contemporary and the majestic art of the past: the 2021 exhibition program just announced by the Galleria Borghese in Rome will be in the sign of these two great artists.

Between spring and autumn the Capitoline museum, under the direction of Francesca Cappelletti, will set up important exhibitions in its halls: the first, simply titled "Damien Hirst" (from 10 May to 10 October), will be curated by Anna Coliva and Mario Codognato and will offer the opportunity to admire the works of the British artist (colossal and very small sculptures, made of precious materials such as bronze, Carrara marble or malachite, alongside the ColorSpace paintings) inserted in the flow of the permanent collection.

The second exhibition, entitled "Let's dance? Guido Reni in Rome. Dance and Landscape" (from November 2021 to February 2022), curated by Francesca Cappelletti, will instead be dedicated to the painting "Danzacampestre" by Guido Reni, which has just returned to the collection of Gallery: the itinerary will also include other works by Bolognese artists, from Annibale Carracci to Domenico, which will allow documenting the experimentation on landscape as a pictorial genre in the early seventeenth century.

"From a constructive point of view, the agreements and projects on which the Museum was committed were confirmed - says the director Francesca Cappelletti - such as the programming on the contemporary started by the previous management, which in the spring presents the large exhibition by Damien Hirst, designed for our exhibition rooms and oriented on the theme of collecting. It is precisely from our permanent collection, which has an international dimension, that the new exhibitions originate, such as the one dedicated in autumn to the painting Danza campestre by GuidoReni, just acquired by the Museum ".
