85,827 tests to detect the corona virus were performed yesterday (Wednesday), 7,668 of which were found to be positive - so the rate of positive results stands at 9.2%, the Ministry of Health said this morning.

Yesterday, the positive rate was 9.2%.

According to the data, 7,272 tests have been performed since midnight - 480 of them have been positive, so that the positive result rate as of 04:59 is 6.6%.

There are currently 76,331 active Corona patients in Israel, 1,772 of whom are hospitalized.

1,132 of the patients are in critical condition, 388 of them in critical condition and 306 respirators.

So far, 4,609 people have died from the virus in Israel - 106 of them since yesterday morning.

To date, 2,849,353 people have received the first dose of the vaccine against the virus (30.92% of the Israeli public) and 1,497,681 people have received the second dose of the vaccine (16.25% of the general public).

According to Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, about 200,000 people were vaccinated yesterday.

As you may recall, starting today, people aged 35 and over will also be able to receive the vaccine.

Edelstein added that despite the high rate of vaccines, the morbidity is not declining at the desired rate: "Unfortunately, there are no doses from the quarantine extension. No one wanted that, but even everyone with eyes in their head understands that there is no other choice."
