The Ministry of Agriculture, accepting the request of the Italian oil sector, has postponed the timetable relating to the Call for the modernization of oil mills provided for by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The concomitant olive-oil campaign, fortunately positive, did not allow all operators to be able to develop projects to be submitted to the individual regional notices. In order to be able to spend all the 100 million euros available, Minister Francesco Lollobrigida has agreed to postpone the deadline for the start of applications for support to 15 February. By 30 May, then, the Autonomies will have to complete the selection of eligible applications and form the ranking list with an indication to the beneficiaries of the conditions for funding and implementation of the initiative. By 31 January 2026, the investments must be completed and an application must be submitted for the payment of the balance, which will be disbursed to the beneficiaries by the following 31 May.

"An appropriate and necessary choice to ensure that all Italian oil mills can take this opportunity so that, thanks to innovation, we can be increasingly competitive on the market - declares Senator Maria Nocco (Brothers of Italy), in a note - I thank Minister Lollobrigida and Undersecretary La Pietra, with responsibility for olive growing, for the attention to this fundamental sector symbol of Made in Italy in the world".

Among the regions with the most funds available, Puglia stands out with 27.4 million euros, followed by Calabria with 16.6 million, Sicily 12.7 million, Tuscany 8.3 million, Campania 6.5 million, Lazio 5.9 million and Abruzzo 5.1 million. Expenses are allowed for the replacement and modernization of the processing, storage and packaging plants of extra virgin olive oil and related by-products and processing wastes in order to improve environmental performance, especially in the production and management of pomace and vegetation water, including the related modernization and expansion of buildings to the extent strictly necessary for the introduction of new plants and technologies and related overheads.
