It was one of the major events of the season set by the former music director of the Paris Opera, Gustavo Dudamel, with the French public. The entry into the operatic repertoire of the Grande Boutique by Thomas Adès, one of the most prolific and sought-after opera composers across the Channel. After his visit last year for The Dante Project, choreographed by Wayne McGregor, this time it is to conquer Parisian lyricophiles that the man who some do not hesitate to describe as the worthy successor of Benjamin Britten will set off.
