Be careful when consuming: The affected product should be returned as it could contain glass splinters.
Kassel – The Schäfer's bakery is recalling its cakes.
All Danube waves sold on Thursday are affected.
The reason for this is glass splinters that could be inside.
The Edeka Group, to which the bakery chain belongs, said individual pieces could contain glass splinters.
Only the Danube waves that were delivered on Thursday and sold at the service counters at Edeka, Edeka Center, Marktkauf and in the Schäfer's bakeries are affected.
Branches in Lower Saxony, Bremen, East Westphalia-Lippe and Saxony-Anhalt are affected by the recall.
Just in October, a supermarket had to recall some organic products because of broken glass.

Recall: Glass splinters in food can be very dangerous
In the worst case, consuming food that contains broken glass can have significant physical consequences.
Internal injuries or bleeding can occur.
Anyone who notices splinters of glass or foreign bodies in general while eating should spit them out immediately and report them directly to protect themselves and other people from greater harm.
The
produktwarning.eu
portal reported the following symptoms in an earlier recall:
Shortness of breath
nausea
Pain and bleeding
Increased salivation
If these symptoms occur, urgent medical attention should be sought and the incident should be described in as much detail as possible.
Under no circumstances should those affected take laxatives to expel the foreign body more quickly, as this could be even more dangerous.
Recently, a bean recall even had to be expanded because there was a risk of internal bleeding if consumed.
