An Aldi customer discovers an unusual sticker while shopping.
Is he currently holding human flesh in his hands?
Lünen – Is human flesh on the menu again from now on?!
What sounds like a poorly quoted statement from an Uruk-hai from the movie “The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring” became a tasteless reality for an Aldi customer in Lünen, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Because when Knut Thamm went shopping at the Aldi branch on Viktoriastrasse in Lünen, he made a strange find in the refrigerator section.
Thamm actually wanted to buy a pack of cabbage rolls, but when he looked at the packaging, his excitement about the offer gave way to surprise.
There was a large sticker on the package that labeled the cabbage rolls as “human meat”.
More precisely: “Human flesh.
250 grams: 0.99 euros”.
The advertising text:
“Thanks to our special feed containing medication and hormones, we can guarantee that our product is harmful.
Due to the immobility of the production units, the husbandry conditions ensure a particularly tender and tasty light product.”
Advertising text on Aldi product.
The note “100% quantity” is based on the actual “100% quality” note.
Not the offer Thamm was actually looking for.

When asked by
IPPEN.MEDIA,
Aldi Nord was unable to say whether this was an official protest by an animal protection association or simply a bad joke.
To date, no one has publicly acknowledged the action.
In addition, it appears to be an isolated case.
A press spokeswoman explained: “All branches in the Lünen district were checked and no further products were found.”
The stickers can be purchased for two cents each at
kreaktivismus.org
– a platform that promotes artistic activism in the form of stickers.
This supports the theory that the attack was carried out by a lone perpetrator.
And Knut Thamm?
He quickly realized that the label was a fake, as he told the
Ruhr Nachrichten
.
Nevertheless, he searched through the existing products to find more packaging of this type.
However, according to the report, he could not find any other packaging with this label.
Thamm's appetite for stuffed cabbage remained undiminished, so he took the cabbage roll offering to the checkout, where he turned the packaging over so that the label couldn't be seen, as he
explained to the
Ruhr Nachrichten .
When asked why: “I was afraid that they would otherwise take it from me.”
