Munich - The reason for the recall is that the manufacturer, Schäfer's Produktionsgesellschaft mbH based in Minden, states that individual pieces could contain foreign glass bodies.
For reasons of preventive consumer protection, consumption of the cake is therefore not recommended.
The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, which regularly points out dangers in food, also warns about the cake on its online portal.
Urgent warning about cakes sold at Edeka: Donauwelle sold in five federal states
As the company explains in a press release, the product concerned was sold in the sales areas of Minden-Hannover (Lower Saxony), Bremen, East Westphalia-Lippe and Saxony-Anhalt.
Consumer protection reports that Saxony is also affected.
These are only items that were delivered or sold in the bakeries on January 18, 2024.
Specifically, the article is about “Donauwelle”, which was sold as loose goods at the service counters at Edeka, Edeka Center, Marktkauf and in the Schäfer's bakeries.
