The city of Sderot has been standing still for over three months.
The desire to return to life and normalcy after over a hundred days of war in the south is strong.
While many stores are still closed in the city, with the exception of supermarkets, the Halperin Optica chain decided yesterday (Sunday) to reopen the chain branch that had been closed since October 6.
During the three months it was closed, there were those who took advantage of the fact that Sderot was empty of residents, and the branch was broken into and goods worth hundreds of thousands of shekels were robbed.
But even this does not stop the management of the branch who decided that the time has come to open and provide a vital response to the residents who have begun to return to the city, to the soldiers who are coming to it and to the people of the south.

"After much thought, we realized that the time has come to reopen our beloved branch in Sderot. For over three months it has been closed and for over three months there has been no answer in Sderot for such an essential item as glasses," says Tali King, manager of the Halperin Optica chain.
"We see the opening of the branch as the beginning of hope and a re-blooming of commerce in the city of Sderot, and I wish all the businesses in the city would open after us."
The branch at 20 Steel Alley will be open during the week from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is available to anyone who needs glasses repair, goggles, eye exams and new glasses.
Although this is only the beginning, these are the buds of a re-blooming of commerce in the city of Sderot, which suffered many victims on that Black Sabbath.
