There was great excitement last Friday, when a new street was inaugurated in Kiryat Ono named after the late Anat Gov, as part of the important project to commemorate Israeli women who left their mark - women of culture, education, political leaders, athletes, scientists, etc. This is the first street in Israel where The playwright and screenwriter was commemorated.



Gidi Gov, who was her partner, her family, the mayor of Kiryat Ono Israel Gal, the deputy mayor, Ron Malka, and Hila Kanister bar David, the chairman of the committee for the advancement of women in the municipality, were present at the ceremony of removing the lot.



Gidi did not hide his excitement and in his special humorous way said: "We were driving in the car and suddenly we heard the bus turn right onto Anat Gov Street, this is the beginning of the Rehovot project, we are not Jabotinsky yet, but maybe one day we will become Anat Gov Boulevard. This commemoration in Kiryat Ono is very Exciting and on behalf of the whole family, thank you to all the men and women of Kiryat Ono."

As part of the project, additional streets will soon be inaugurated in the new neighborhood.

The new streets will be named after Knesset member and minister Ora Namir, writer and playwright Nava Semal, cancer researcher Prof. Bela Kaufman, singer Ofra Haza, media woman and radio broadcaster Shirah Imber, and poet Naomi Shemer.



Israel Gal, Mayor of Kiryat Ono: "We decided in the municipality to name streets after women who left their mark in Israel, women of culture, women of education, scientists and others and Anat Gov, playwright, poet, screenwriter, translator, satirist and publicist, is the first among them. The war continues , and the abductees have not yet returned unfortunately and the mood is not good, but today I am happy and excited that we have reached this moment of inaugurating a new street and more named after Anat Gov."



Hila Kanister Bar David, Chairwoman of the Women's Directorate Kiryat Ono: "I am excited to open this morning with the dedication of a street in a special neighborhood whose streets will be named after special, pioneering and inspiring women.
