Egypt's ambassador to Italy, Bassam Rady, sent Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, who, in thanking for the good wishes sent by the Prime Minister for his re-election which took place last December, underlines the "distinct bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields and the aspiration to develop these relations for the benefit of the two friendly peoples and all the peoples of the region, as well as greater mutual coordination on regional issues".

In her message, Giorgia Meloni - reports Rady - underlined "the importance of deepening the mutual partnership between the two countries in all sectors of common interest, from political dialogue, to economic cooperation and defence, to immigration, culture and even science and technology, expressing his aspiration to continue the common work to achieve lasting and sustainable peace for the entire region, appreciating the sincere efforts made by Egypt regarding the Gaza war, especially on the humanitarian level".
Ambassador Rady stated that "Egypt and Italy have a deep historical friendship based on mutual respect and shared commitment to achieving stability, peace, development and cooperation in the Mediterranean region, underlining the great development of bilateral relations between the two countries during 2023 demonstrated by the number of high-level visits exchanged between the two sides as well as the regular coordination between them on all regional and international issues."
