The Court of Rome has accepted the appeal of 80 workers of Bnl Bnp Paribas against the sale of some company branches, relating to the back office and intended for Ast, srl of the Accenture group and which will now have to be rehired by the banking group.

The unions (Unisin, Uilca, Fabi, First and Fisac) who opposed the operation rejoice, while Bnl Bnp underlines how "in compliance with the decision taken by the Court, the bank is taking steps to follow it up. Bnl also remains convinced of the choices made carried out in its time and of the industrial and strategic value of the partnership with Accenture and reserves all actions to support its position".

In particular, according to the credit institution "the service contract with Accenture will remain operational as will the commitments made by both parties" Bnl will finally, with immediate effect, restore the working relationship with the colleagues affected by the sentence and start a process of information and discussion with trade union organisations.

For Tommaso Vigliotti, National Secretary of Unisin and secretary responsible for the Bnl/Bnp Paribas group.

"Those transfers are illegitimate, the alleged company branches do not comply with the requirements set by current legislation: we were convinced of this when we opposed those operations in every way, giving up signing noose agreements which would also have been immoral".

"Bnl should have listened to our reasons instead of blindly moving forward with its project which is now denied by the judges" explains the national secretary of Uilca Mariangela Verga.

"This is proof that we as Fabi were right in always maintaining that all Bnl's outsourcing did not have legally sustainable support" declare the Fabi representatives in Ast.

"This outsourcing operation is on a scale never seen before in the banking sector in Italy, as it involved, in addition to the 508 workers indicated above, also approximately 300 others from the Information Technology sector of Bnl itself, for a total of approximately 800 employees".

Of the 508 workers transferred, approximately 360 challenged the transfer in court claiming its illegitimacy.
