A woman from Fürstenfeldbruck can now celebrate her birthday twice a year: as if by a miracle she survived a dramatic accident on Monday around 11 p.m. with only minor injuries.

Eitting - She crashed her BMW under a stationary semi-trailer at 120 kilometers per hour.

According to police reports, the accident occurred on the A92 Deggendorf-Munich near the Eitting/Erding junction.

According to initial investigations, the woman realized too late that she wanted to leave the A92 at this junction.

She also admitted that she had been using her cell phone while driving.

And there is a case of drunk driving.

A witness observed that she had overtaken the 29-year-old shortly before the exit at 180 to 200 km/h.

She took the exit lane at 120 km/h - the curve was far too narrow for that.

The BMW drove under a truck trailer that was parked on the control strip.

The police know this so well because the speedometer stopped.

The force of the impact was so great that the woman's car was completely destroyed - the damage amounts to around 50,000 euros.

All airbags deployed.

The police estimate the damage to the semi-trailer at around 6,000 euros, and there was also a traffic sign.

The driver had an attentive guardian angel because she only sustained minor injuries to both knees and was taken to hospital by the emergency services.

The officers smelled alcohol from the driver at the scene of the accident and she refused a breath test.

She then had to go to the hospital to have a blood sample taken.

The result is still pending.

The BMW and semi-trailer had to be recovered by tow trucks and traffic was largely normal.
