He will have to compete with Romain Duris (The Animal Kingdom), Benjamin Lavernhe (L'Abbé Pierre - Une vie de combats) and Melvil Poupaud (The amour et les forêts).Among the actresses, Marion Cotillard, Viriginie Efira and Hafsia Herzi are in the running.
The 3,375 members of the Academy of Cèsars now have a month to choose - among the nominations - those who will be awarded in the ceremony on February 23 at the Olympia theater in Paris, presented by the actress Valérie Lemercier.
Honorary Césars are expected for the actress and director Agnès Jaoui and for the American-British director Christopher Nolan.
