Two other Italian presences among the candidates for the French Oscars - the final evening is scheduled for February 23rd - Linda and the Chicken by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, in the Best Animated Film category also Interdit aux chiens et aux italiens film on racism in comparisons of Italians signed by Alain Ughetto, French born to an Italian family.

    The success of this raw film seems to never end , which reconstructs the trial of a woman accused of killing her husband, with the only witness being the visually impaired son of the two. Justine Triet, 45, was already, in May, the third director in history to win the Palme d'Or in Cannes.


    It is now also competing for best director, while the protagonist, the German Sandra Huller, is nominated for best actress.


    Standing out among the candidates is Raphael Quenard, 32, nominated as "revelation" for "Chien de la casse" by Jean-Baptiste Durand, but at the same time as "best actor" for "Yannick", by Quentin Dupieux. He will have to compete with Romain Duris (The Animal Kingdom), Benjamin Lavernhe (L'Abbé Pierre - Une vie de combats) and Melvil Poupaud (The amour et les forêts).Among the actresses, Marion Cotillard, Viriginie Efira and Hafsia Herzi are in the running.


    The 3,375 members of the Academy of Cèsars now have a month to choose - among the nominations - those who will be awarded in the ceremony on February 23 at the Olympia theater in Paris, presented by the actress Valérie Lemercier.

Honorary Césars are expected for the actress and director Agnès Jaoui and for the American-British director Christopher Nolan.
