Netflix is disappearing from many TV models.
The app will be removed from more than 100 devices by the end of February 2024.
Is your television also affected?
Hamm - Stranger Things, The Crown, Black Mirror, Sex Education, The Witcher or the disturbing Dark from Germany - the streaming service Netflix delights hundreds of millions of customers worldwide with its own productions and has been setting new trends in series and films for years.
However, anyone who watches Netflix on a Sony television could soon only see black.
The reason: The Netflix app is disappearing from many devices, as

explains.
Out for Netflix: App will be removed from 100 Sony TV models
As Sony announces, the Netflix app will no longer be available on certain devices from March 2024.
Not only older televisions from the Japanese tech manufacturer are affected by the shutdown, but also Blu-Ray Disc players.
Technical limitations are cited as the reason.
The ravages of time are also affecting smart TVs.
They become outdated and after a few years may no longer have the prerequisites for the latest updates.
Netflix, which recently announced price increases for its customers, will not only forego further updates on many Sony devices, but will also remove the app entirely.
It can only be used on the affected TV models until the end of February 2024, “after this date the Netflix service will be removed from the devices,” Sony said.
Subscribers with older Sony televisions therefore have to look for new options - a modern television or an external solution such as Amazon Fire TV Stick or Apple TV - if they want to continue streaming Netflix.
Netflix app off on old Sony TVs: Is your model affected?
According to Sony, the TV models in question came onto the market between 2011 and 2013.
When it comes to televisions, the Netflix ban applies to 45 models from the HX series, 38 models from the W series, 15 models from the EX series and two other models.
Altogether that makes exactly 100. These are mainly Bravia Smart TVs.
There are also 35 Blu-ray systems.
