"When it comes to the gym, you also have to think about the others. During physical training, the exerciser spreads much more viruses, as we learned during the corona epidemic. Therefore, if we come to the gym with a cold, we are spreading corona, flu or respiratory viruses in the air, and for that reason, the gym is certainly not allowed to go if we have a cold," states Prof. Lahad.

"As for playing sports at home, here you have to take into account the personal feeling. When we are sick, we have to let the body rest. During the Corona period, the researchers accumulated a lot of evidence that there are viruses in the air that cause inflammation of the heart muscle. The virus damages the heart and sometimes causes arrhythmias. Therefore, in any case of An illness I recommend not to embrace the body at all. In case it's not just a runny nose, but there are also headaches, fever or a feeling of weakness in the whole body, then there is a risk."

So don't do training at all?

"The answer is that it is very good not to exercise, it is difficult and as a fitness addict myself I know how difficult this feeling is, but it is better to let the body rest and strengthen. If someone really needs to exercise, then let them do exercise at a lower intensity than they are used to, that is, to push the body four degrees above the usual exercise which we do, and of course, only at home."
