Dishwasher tablets don't just help with dirty dishes and glasses.
The shower head can also be easily cleaned.
Particularly in regions with hard water, deposits build up in the shower head nozzles over time.
This not only looks unsightly, but also affects the water jet.
The cool water then sprays in all directions or no longer makes it through the narrow nozzles.
In order for the shower head to become clean again and function properly, it must be descaled and cleaned regularly - but this often happens far too rarely.
All it takes is a small dishwasher tablet and your shower will shine like new again, without any stress.

Dishwasher tablets, which normally ensure cleanliness in the kitchen, can also work wonders in the bathroom.
Its ingredients dissolve limescale and residues that have settled in the shower head.
An ideal alternative if you want things to be simple and uncomplicated.
And this is how it works:
Dissolve tab in water:
Simply dissolve a dishwasher tab in a bowl of warm water.
Allow to soak:
Disconnect the shower head from the hose or unscrew it from the holder and allow it to soak in the tab solution for several hours.
Rinse thoroughly:
After soaking, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
All limescale residue should now be gone.
Can you clean the shower head in the dishwasher?
With modern shower heads, the steel disc can be removed and cleaned in the dishwasher.
To do this, you should choose a program with the lowest possible water temperature.
However, first check the operating instructions to see whether the shower head is actually dishwasher safe.
If in doubt, it is safer to clean the shower head by hand, for example with tried and tested household remedies such as baking soda or vinegar.
Shower head cannot be removed?
Trick with a plastic bag helps with cleaning
If you have difficulty unscrewing the shower head from the holder, you can use a trick.
For this method, all you need is vinegar and a freezer bag.
Fill the bag with vinegar and secure it to the shower head with a rubber band.
Alternatively, mix vinegar essence with warm water in a ratio of 1:5.
Leave it on for about two hours and then rinse thoroughly with water.
Vinegar not only dissolves limescale, but also has a disinfecting effect.
