An old Little Richard comes to us over the gate.
We are at Sylvie Vartan's, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
On the terrace, her husband Tony Scotti listens to rock and soul classics from the 1950s and 60s. In the living room, she poses for our photographer sitting between her dogs, Muffin and Harlo, or leaning on a seat with her name on it, inherited from the shoot of the film “The Black Angel”, in which she was the star exactly thirty years ago.

We spot a platinum record of her son, David Hallyday, among dozens of family photos, including superb portraits of her in a snowy forest in her native Bulgaria.
She has chosen her haven of peace to announce her farewell to the stage, which will begin on November 8, 9 and 10 at the Dôme de Paris (formerly Palais des Sports).
“I’m bowing out,” she says after a 60-year career, 40 million albums and 10 million tickets sold worldwide.
But she doesn’t draw a line under the song.
