In Germany we know cows as mooing grazing animals that often don't look particularly friendly.
An American rescue center for farm animals wants to change this perception.
“The Gentle Barn”, an accommodation for retired farm animals with three branches in the US states of California, Tennessee and Missouri, has made it its mission not only to offer the animals a loving home, but also to unite people To provide access to often overlooked creatures.

There are many reasons why we should value cows.

In a viral video posted by the sanctuary for "Cow Appreciation Day," as written in a hashtag under the video, which is also one of the most popular clips on its Instagram channel (@thegentlebarn), seven become adorable Reasons given why we should value cows.
More than 2.5 million people have already viewed the cute clip.
1. Cows are “great cuddlers”
Given their sheer size, this trait is hard to believe, but there seems to be something to it when you look at the touching video footage of the farm: the cows are "great cuddlers" and users actually get to see how much the cows seem to like it cuddle: They nestle lovingly against people and close their eyes out of sheer well-being.

2. Cows are “playful & funny”
Luckily for the little ones among the cows, not only farm animals, but also dogs, horses, chickens, pigs and numerous other animals live at “The Gentle Barn”: For example, a border collie is ideal for a little game of tag play - at least finds a little calf that happily chases after the four-legged friend.

A black and white, fully grown cow, on the other hand, throws her head from right to left in front of the camera out of sheer exuberance - and the users see very clearly: cows are definitely "playful and funny."
3. Cows are “just like dogs”
Dogs love them - the so-called "belly rubs", i.e. the so-called belly rub, for which the four-legged friends like to throw themselves on their backs so that their humans can get to all the places as possible.
And apparently they are not alone: According to the rescue station, cows also love such crawling sessions.
But it doesn't stop there: when it comes to treats, ruminants are not unlike furry friends: they also enjoy eating the little delicacies.
4. Cows are “music lovers”
A woman serenades a cow on the violin - instead of running away bored, the cow listens carefully to the music.
And a young man playing something on the guitar to a black cow is also listened to with curiosity.
Do cows like music?
It has been known for a long time that cows like to listen to music.
They prefer classical music.
These melodies have been proven to have a calming effect on the grazing animals and had positive effects on the cows' psyche.
Even the milk flow improves with the classical music playing in the cowsheds.
5. Cows are “friendly to each other”
Animal lovers who look closely in everyday life also recognize this behavior in their local meadows.
But it is particularly clear in the video from “The Gentle Barn”: cows can not only be friendly towards people, they also treat each other with great benevolence.
They lovingly lick each other's fur.
6. Cows are “intelligent”
A cow named “Captain” demonstrates his intelligence on behalf of his peers: the black and white grazing animal reacts to his name without hesitation.
“You are so intelligent,” an employee then calls out to him, proving to the TikTok community that cows are not only cute, but also intelligent.
7. Cows are “loving & friendly”
Finally, the sanctuary emphasizes the loving and friendly nature of cows as one of the reasons why we should value cows more.
In the accompanying video excerpts you can see, for example, how a cow tenderly licks a woman's shoulder or how another cow gently places its head on a girl's back.

Comments from enthusiastic TikTok users are piling up on the video, which has already received more than 573,000 likes.
