The senator and leader of Action, Carlo Calenda, said this on Giù lamaschera, on Radio Uno Rai.
When speaking to Schlein, Calenda said he did not agree with her "on the international positioning and I am against Schlein's idea that politics is: 'We are the good ones'. I say: how do you plan to digest the entry of migrants into Italy? Are you in favor of everyone or controlling it? I don't think I'm bad. I'm anti-fascist but I think politics is more than that."
Then, on Matteo Renzi: "He perfectly understood that for the new times, politics is leadership and the ability to become a point of reference. There is a weakness in politics, which follows movie star cycles. Let's think of Elly Schlein. When he won the primaries all the newspapers wrote that the world had changed. After two months, after the administrative elections, Schlein was already over. We move from these extremes. There is an absolute overexposure between politics and entertainment. At a certain point we vote for those who entertain us and empathize in our fears. And this thing gets boring very quickly. It happened with the League, the 5 Star Movement, Matteo Renzi and now with Meloni".
