Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a phone call from the President of the Italian Council Giorgia Meloni.
The Egyptian presidency made this known through its spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, specifying that the focus of the meeting was the strengthening of cooperation between the two states and the situation in Gaza.
The President - the spokesperson reports - examined the Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire and the implementation of humanitarian aid, underlining the need for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in this sense consistently with the international legitimacy of the decisions.
In this regard, the President renewed the alarm that the continuation of the war in Gaza will have significant repercussions on the security of the region, underlining that the restoration of stability is linked to a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question which leads to the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
Meloni, for his part, the Egyptian spokesperson always reports, "appreciated Egypt's efforts for the ceasefire by contacting all parties to restore security in the region, and it was decided to continue coordination and consultation to restore regional stability" .
