This is the beautiful story of this day of mobilization.
This Friday, in Reims, a couple who were going to the maternity ward finally saw their child born in the car, accompanied by municipal police officers.
On the sidelines of the farmers' demonstration, a municipal police crew was arrested by a couple of motorists at the Saint-Brice bridge, in the suburbs of Reims, said Mayor Arnaud Robinet in a press release published by the newspaper L'Union.
The couple,
“
in distress
”
, had to go to the maternity ward
“
for an imminent birth
”,
specifies the press release.
According to local media, the procession of tractors did not block the couple's passage.
Mom and baby are doing well
Although the police immediately called for help, they ultimately had to carry out the “delivery of the woman who gave birth to a little girl” themselves.
“The birth took place in the parents’ vehicle.
The child and the mother are in good health and have been taken care of by the Smur,” we learn in the Union article.
Mayor Arnaud Robinet wanted to thank his agents:
“
Our municipal police officers showed admirable composure (…).
I would like to salute the courage of our agents who allowed everything to happen in the best conditions for this family, and to sincerely thank them.
I am proud of our municipal police and their commitment to the well-being of our fellow citizens.
»,
declared Mayor Arnaud Robinet.
