Three American soldiers were killed in a drone attack in Jordan: CNN reports.
It is the first time that there have been casualties among US forces in the Middle East since the start of the war in Gaza.
In tonight's drone attack against a US position in Jordan, at least two dozen American soldiers were injured, in addition to the three dead.
CNN reports this, citing US executives.
"We are still gathering information on this attack, but we know that it was carried out by radical militant groups supported by Iran operating in Syria and Iraq":
Joe Biden
states this in a note on the drone attack in Jordan against a US position, expressing pain and condolences for the death of three American soldiers.
"The three American soldiers we lost were patriots in the highest sense and their extreme sacrifice will not be forgotten by our nation" Biden added, promising that "we will continue their commitment in the fight against terrorism".
"And have no doubts: we will hold all those responsible to account at the time and in the way we choose", she added.
America's heart is heavy today.
Last night, three US service members were killed - and many injured - during a drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan, near the border with Syria," the president reports. "Jill and I - continues - we join the families and friends of our fallen, and Americans across the country, in mourning the loss of these warriors in this despicable and completely unjust attack.
These soldiers embodied the best of our nation: unwavering in their courage.
Unyielding in their duty.
Uncompromising in their commitment to our country, risking their own security for that of their compatriots and our allies and partners with whom we fight terrorism.
It is a fight we will not cease." "Together, we will uphold the sacred obligation we have to their families.
We will strive to be worthy of their honor and valor,” he concludes.
