The Ocean Viking, the NGO ship carrying 71 migrants who were recovered in the open sea off the Libyan coast on January 29, entered the port of Livorno around 6 am.
At 6.30 it duly docked at Calata Carrara while at the dock the ship was equipped with the usual civil protection equipment, Red Cross and 118 doctors and police forces.
The first to board were the maritime health doctors.
Then the migrants will be visited and sent to the identification process located on the first floor of the maritime station.
On board there are 9 unaccompanied minors, 5 women, one of whom is pregnant with her husband and the rest are all men.
The 71 migrants, who mostly come from Eritrea, Ethiopia and Sudan, will remain in Tuscany.
6, including a minor, will be sent to reception centers in Livorno and the province while the others, as explained by the prefect of Livorno Paolo D'Attilio, will be distributed among the rest of the provinces of the region.
