The meeting between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentine President Javier Milei, which took place in the afternoon at Palazzo Chigi, lasted about an hour.

Shortly before, Milei had been received at the Quirinale by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, for an informal meeting of courtesy and knowledge.

In the meeting, it was learned, the ties between the two communities and the intention to intensify them were reiterated, and the relationship between the European Union and Mercosur was also discussed.

Near Palazzo Chigi a small group of Milei's supporters gathered to cheer him as he passed by.

"Milei! Milei!", the chant chanted by the group of supporters as the Argentine delegation's motorcade passed by.

One of them was holding an Argentine flag in his hand, while Beatrice Rodriguez, an Argentinian who has lived in Rome for some time, presented herself with a sign that read: "I voted for you, love animals".

"He really loves them - the woman explained while waiting for Milei -, if he meets a dog the first thing he does is stop and pet it, he drives his bodyguards crazy".

Instead, Lorenzo arrived from Trento, "in Italy for 30 years".

"Milei is a great economist, he is the only person at this moment who can change the face of a country in ashes. The chainsaw is a symbol, not of violence but of a great change", he underlined, before shouting "long live freedom!" .
