In January 2024, the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction grew by 3.7% compared to December, while on a trend basis, the raw index recorded an increase of 18.8%, compared to an index corrected for calendar effects growing by 14. 8% (there were 22 calendar working days compared to 21 January 2023).

This is what Istat estimates.


    "The seasonally adjusted construction production index recorded the highest level of the last two years in January 2024, recording the fourth consecutive month of cyclical growth" comments Istat, adding that "also for the index corrected for calendar effects, in comparison with January 2023 , a substantial and accelerating increase is observed compared to previous months".


    On average for the quarter November 2023 - January 2024, production in construction increased by 4.9% compared to the previous quarter.
