Jason Derulo makes the fans scream in the sold-out Munich Olympic Hall.
Our concert review:
The women in the audience have been waiting for this moment for almost an hour and a half: With just the right amount of theatricality, Jason Derulo takes off his tight black tank top.
Shirtless and attractively lit, he stands there, his body wet with sweat, his gaze directed seriously at the sold-out hall.
Then he begins the frivolous climax of the evening: “Talk dirty to me.” And everyone screams.
Jason Derulo in Munich: The Olympic Hall is sold out
Of course, the screaming starts earlier, when the countdown on the screen reaches ten seconds.
Fire, sparkle jacket: Jason Derulo is here!
The American, who habitually announces himself in the first bars of his songs by singing his name, doesn't hesitate for long.
And turns the Olympic Hall into a club and the stage into a playground for himself and his dance crew.
He only plays hits like “Watcha Say”, “Wiggle” and “In my Head” in parts, but he also has a lot planned: the set list for his “Nu King World Tour” includes a whopping 27 songs.
The whole thing is perfectly styled from the first to the last second.
Whether he's playing the intro of "Acapulco" with a ball of light on laser beams like on a piano or surrounded by shaking butts during "Swalla" he's proving that he's in good voice this Tuesday evening (March 26, 2024): there's that a lot on offer.
Yes, few parts of the music and singing come from the tape.
How else could the 34-year-old sustain this show?
The wild hustle and bustle between the courtship dance and the Broadway musical is always sweaty.
Especially since he is in no way inferior to his dancers when it comes to commitment.
In all the hustle and bustle, the fact that he performs acoustic outros to “Savage Love” and “Talk Dirty” with some heart and soul is almost lost.
In fact, it's the mixture that makes it.
The dancers show moves that are a show in themselves and thrill the hall even without the main actor.
The show has a harmonious aesthetic that also works in the back rows.
And then of course there's Jason Derulo.
He doesn't have to announce himself in Munich.
His fans also screamed.
