The President of the Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, criticized Europe by stating that it has a colonialist vision of Latin America, and defined the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, "a racist and warmonger. He spoke about it at the ceremony commemorating the 30th anniversary of Hugo Chávez's release from prison.
"The colonialist vision of Europe in Latin America is alive and well. Josep Borrell, for example, is a racist, a colonialist, a warmonger (...). All of these have a colonialist and contemptuous vision of us, they look at us from 'top down', underlined the head of state.

Machado's party is "terrorist"
The wave of repression in Venezuela is strengthening, in view of the elections on 28 July.
President Maduro, in fact, now states that Vente Venezuela, the opposition party founded by Maria Corina Machado - the presidential candidate chosen by a large majority by the opposition, but who was legally prohibited from voting - is in fact a "terrorist movement".
The head of state, who claims to be the object and victim of multiple conspiracies, underlined that in 15 days
two groups linked to Vente Venezuela were captured.
"On the phones - he declared - they left all the voice notes, the photographs, all the evidence. They were convicted and they confessed".
Six opposition leaders linked to Machado, accused of participating in these alleged plots, found refuge at the residence of the Argentine ambassador in Caracas.
