Companies can voluntarily support their employees financially during their recovery time.
In some companies there is a so-called recovery allowance, for example instead of vacation pay.

In this way, 156 euros can be paid out tax- and social security-free, as the German Press Agency reported on the details of the possible recovery allowance - a voluntary benefit from the employer.
If employees have a spouse, 104 euros more can be transferred, and another 52 euros per child can be transferred, according to the Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors (BStBK) dpa.

Health promotion: Voluntary support from the employer
Quite a few companies offer their employees additional benefits.
If employees actively do something for their health, employers can also provide financial support here, as the dpa report further states: costs for nutritional advice, smoking cessation, back training or yoga courses, for example, could be covered up to an amount of 600 euros per year, If the measure is certified by the health insurance company, the Taxpayers' Association announced, according to dpa.
