"After everything that has happened in Italy, after what they have exposed themselves to, it would be embarrassing for the Italian institutions if my daughter were denied house arrest tomorrow."
Roberto Salis said this after meeting his daughter Ilaria in prison, who has been detained in Budapest for over a year on charges of attacking three far-right militants.
After visiting his daughter, Roberto Salis has now arrived at the Italian embassy for a meeting with ambassador Manuel Jacoangeli.
"Ilaria is well and is confident and hopeful for tomorrow's hearing", he added.
He spent about an hour with her daughter Ilaria "and I found her to be well and less pale, as much as she might be a person who spends 23 hours in a cell every day".
In the afternoon Salis will then meet the lawyers who tomorrow will present the request to serve his house arrest in Hungary and the judge's decision could arrive at the same hearing: "We hope he decides tomorrow - explained Salis - but it could also take longer. However, I am fighting and not giving up , my daughter is at stake, the house arrest in Hungary is however a means to achieve the real goal, that is, bringing her to Italy, even if the interference of the Hungarian government worries us".
"Tomorrow - he concluded - I expect not to see it in the courtroom in the same way as last time, they told me that the measures will be relaxed a little"
