A total of eleven pallets are gone! That's how big the run was in a Lidl store for an everyday product - the manager of the store documents the rush.

Nettetal - Which product do most consumers need? N/a? Think carefully! After all, there are also people who do without butter, bread or coffee. The answer, which requires no further explanation, is probably: toilet paper. If a supermarket has this on offer, it obviously goes quickly. That’s why “The Branch Manager” made a video about it. It's a man who runs a Lidl store in Nettetal (NRW) and who had already proven this to our editorial team. He regularly makes videos for TikTok with entertaining or money-saving tips.

Toilet paper offer at Lidl: branch manager sells eleven pallets

He has now dedicated several clips to the toilet paper offer at Lidl from Friday, March 8th. “All the bargain hunters will storm the Lidl branches on Friday,” he had expected in advance. And then on Saturday, March 9th I want to document how the last remnants are going away. “Yesterday nine pallets of XXL toilet paper sold for 4.49 euros. Received two more pallets today. I'm curious to see how long they last. “I’ll take you with me,” he explains.

Lidl store manager shows how quickly cheap toilet paper goes away - slowly for him, quickly for others

He himself is surprised by how the day turns out. This is called the “demonstration effect”. Because the cheap toilet paper doesn't go away as quickly as expected. This could be because the price only applies to app users and the regular amount of 7.89 euros is written on the palette. After 20 minutes only three packages have been sold. “Today the hype about toilet paper is not as big as it was yesterday,” he says soberly. The branch manager admits that he “took his mouth too full.” But at some point everything is sold and he says: “So, the Corona feeling is over now. Toilet paper has finally come to an end. The last pallet is out. 4.49 euros for toilet paper was really a spectacle.”

Some possible Lidl employees also reported the run on the Lidl branches in the comments. Of course, it cannot be verified that they work for the discounter, but it is plausible. While the crowds in Nettetal were subdued, things were going well elsewhere. This is what it says: “So all six pallets were gone at 7:30 a.m.,” “We only had that on Saturday because Friday was a holiday. We only got one pallet. Of course there was nothing left during late shift,” “Nine pallets? I had one and at 7.30 a.m. it was all gone,” “We only had two pallets yesterday, didn’t get anything today, a joke. And the two pallets were gone by 8 a.m.,” “We opened at 7 a.m., the first pallet was already gone at 8:20 a.m.,” “I sold three pallets of them yesterday, really easy,” or “We escalated today.” .

Aldi, Rewe & Co. also often entice customers with toilet paper offers

Markets often attract consumers to their branches with toilet paper offers: Rewe is selling Zewa toilet paper with eight four-ply rolls for 3.99 euros in the week starting March 11th, or even cheaper with an app coupon. According to a

a pack of ten rolls on offer for 1.95 euros in January 2024. You can really save here - and the next offer from Lidl, Aldi or other chains will definitely come. Lidl also often writes negative headlines: the discounter's customers were fuming because of another offer. And a vegan product made a Lidl customer mad.
