Lose weight without any exercise or sacrifice: A new study examines the influence of apple cider vinegar on losing weight - with astonishing results.
Kassel – The popular saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is well known in America. But scientists have now found that apples can also help beyond this saying, namely with losing weight - but not in their traditional form.
A research team from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon published their findings in the journal
BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health
published. In their study, they showed what effects apple cider vinegar can have on weight loss success.
Losing weight with apple cider vinegar: Study provides amazing insights
For their study, the researchers examined a total of 120 overweight women and men between the ages of 12 and 25. In the double-blind, randomized clinical trial, participants were divided into four groups. Even the scientists who conducted the experiment didn't know which participant ate what. The apple cider vinegar or the placebo were always taken in the morning on an empty stomach. People who reacted to vinegar with heartburn were excluded from the study in advance.

Apple cider vinegar as a weight loss aid? Study shows possible help for dieters
Apart from drinking apple cider vinegar or the placebo on an empty stomach every day, the participants in the experiment should not follow any special instructions. You shouldn't make any special adjustments to your diet either. The subjects were only given a food diary. The amount of physical activity was also monitored. At the beginning of the study and after four, eight and twelve weeks, the test participants' physical data, i.e. weight loss success, were recorded and blood was taken. The results are impressive.
According to the study, taking apple cider vinegar led to a significant decrease in body weight and BMI. “The decrease in body weight and BMI appeared to be dose-dependent, with the group receiving 15 milliliters showing the most significant reduction,” the researchers explain in their study. This was despite the fact that the groups did not differ in their physical activity or diet.

Using apple cider vinegar to achieve weight loss success: What you should consider
This is not the first study to look at apple cider vinegar as a possible weight loss booster. A study from Japan also examined exactly this mechanism in 2009. Here, too, the researchers came to the conclusion that the highest dose of apple cider vinegar had the highest weight loss results. However, as in the current study, the researchers point out in both cases that this is only a relatively short-term study. The long-term effects of apple cider vinegar on weight loss cannot be covered. Further studies with larger numbers of participants would also improve the transferability of the results.
