The National Association of Magistrates has set the topic of the introduction of psycho-aptitude tests for access to the profession by the government on the agenda of the next central steering committee, scheduled for 6 and 7 April. At that time, possible proposals for intervention in this regard by the association will be evaluated, including any proposals for mobilization.
The item on the agenda reads: "introduction of psycho-aptitude tests for access to the judiciary. Evaluations." "It is a provision that seems to me to be in a certain sense insulting towards the judiciary, because it gives a message to citizens according to which magistrates need to be controlled psychically - explains the general secretary of the National Magistrates Association Salvatore Casciaro to TgCom24 -. It is a demagogic provision because it does not there is no need for it: magistrates are monitored under the level of balance, a parameter which constitutes a precondition for the exercise of the judicial function, throughout their career. And it is a provision of dubious constitutionality".
