Music, a family affair. After working on several of his father's albums, James McCartney collaborated with Sean Lennon, John Lennon's youngest son. The two artists unveiled a new single on April 12, entitled
Primrose Hill.
They took the opportunity to organize a competition allowing some of their admirers to appear in the future music video for the song.
On his social networks, James McCartney said he was
“very excited”
at the idea of sharing this new title, co-written by his
“good friend Sean Lennon”.

With the release of this song, I feel like we’re really starting to roll
,” the singer said on Instagram.

Primrose Hill
, the ballad of James McCartney and Sean Lennon, has the feel of some songs released by the Beatles years before. But it is also and above all the story of an old memory of James McCartney.

Beatles fans rejoiced at the arrival of this song, most believing they would never hear a McCartney-Lennon duet again. The collaboration between the sons of the two Beatles singers is therefore a great first. In the past, James McCartney has already worked on two albums of his father, notably

(1997) and
Driving Rain
(2001), in which he plays guitar and drums. He then went solo and released three albums, including
The Blackberry Train
, his latest, which dates back to 2016. Sean Lennon followed a fairly similar path, first working with his mother, Yoko Ono, before to begin a solo career, allowing him to collaborate with international artists such as Lenny Kravitz and Lana Del Rey.
