Remund has been a T-Mobile customer for almost 30 years. During his trip to Switzerland he didn't think anything about it and sent numerous photos and messages. The shock only followed at home: the company charged him around USD 143,000 because he had used 9.5 gigabytes of mobile data abroad. According to the US broadcaster, five to ten gigabytes is actually the average for a month. In Remund's case, however, it was roaming data for which thousands of dollars were charged every day.
