We often associate the idea of eating less with that of losing weight. Skip a meal to squeeze in a few fewer calories during the day. But for our specialist Virginie Parée, nutrition advisor, this is a very bad idea!
Missing a meal...and skipping the next
The main risk is skipping a meal, and avenging unsatisfied hunger on the next meal by wolfing down larger quantities, or even snacking. Don't skip your lunch anymore, and you'll no longer rush for a slice of cheese at 5 p.m.! “Skipping meals leads to fatigue and increased food intake at the next meal. We will be so hungry that we will not take the time to chew food,” explains the specialist.
